Tummy tuck abdominoplasty can be considered by both men and women. However, this procedure is not recommended if you can lose weight by the other methods as by dieting or exercising. Ideally, the right situation for this procedure is when your body is in perfect condition.
The tummy tuck abdominoplasty can help you reduce fat and the loose or flabby skin from the abdominal region. It can be referred to, if you have already tried all the other ways and they have not helped you. This is because, it is a sure way by which you, can change the appearance of your abdomen and make it sculpted.
Many people confuse it with liposuction; however, it is different from it. In the tummy tuck abdominoplasty, the appearance of the abdomen is changed by tightening the abdominal muscles and skin.
The tummy tuck abdominoplasty is considered a major surgery. It is of two types i.e. the inpatient and the outpatient type. Sometimes it is done with the local anesthesia as sedatives, though more commonly it is done using the general anesthesia. During the surgery, the surgeon makes a long incision, from one of the hipbones to the other. After this, they separate the naval from the surrounding tissues with the help of a second incision. Then the skin is separated from the interior abdominal wall. Then the muscles are brought together, tightened and attached in a new position. After doing so, the skin is stretched back on the abdomen. Some of the skin remains spared, which is removed. A new belly button is made by cutting a hole in the attached skin. This skin, which has the original incision too, is again properly stitched. After the surgery, the abdomen is dressed with dressings and bandages. The additional fluid from the abdomen is drained out with the help of a drainage tube. As the tummy tuck abdominoplasty is an invasive surgery, the patients undergoing it develop a scar on their abdomen. Due to this, many people prefer to have endoscopic abdominoplasty instead of the traditional one. In this type the incisions and the whole surgery is performed with the reference of invasive camera called endoscope. However, a disadvantage of this method is that, it does not help in tightening the loose skin. After tummy tuck abdominoplasty, the patients may experience pain, swelling and uncomfortable for some days. However, medications are available for that and their use reduces them to a great level.
